Forum: Tips & Tricks for faking images

The image in the attachment (1st pic) is a perfect example which will guarantee the best result in swapping / faking faces.

Here's why:

  • The face itself has distance to the borders or as we fakers call it: "margin". A margin of at least 100px to each sides should be a minimum. Otherwise, the face recognition software might not detect any face and the whole swapping process could fail.
  • Both eyes are visible & no distortion of the face.
  • The face is not covered by any objects like hair.
  • The mouth is closed. Swapping teeth are sometimes a bit of an issue for the software.
  • Almost no shadows, no harsh light but good contrast.

General tips:
  • My software detects only one (1) face per image. Ergo: if there are multiple faces in a picture, only the 1st face will be taken.
  • Face detection scans an image from LEFT to RIGHT. So the face which is most of all to the left, will be processed.
  • Tattoos, pictures on the wall, statues with faces and even some animals or toys with faces can be recognized as human faces and hence used by the software as source file for swapping (example: 2nd pic).
  • The larger the target image file is, the more pixelated the result will be. That's why faked images are limited to max. 2000px x 2000px - depending on the aspect ratio of the target image.
  • I recommend using Opera as browser for using DailyFakes.com. Its built-in "paste-from-clipboard" is awesome! Copy any image with your right click to your clipboard and paste it to DailyFakes.com. So you don't have to "Save as..." your images any longer and upload them manually subsequently  Idea Cool
  • I will edit & extend this post whenever more tips come into my mind.

July 13th, 2024

Only 10 image faking requests were forwarded simultaneously to the 3 conversion servers. Affected users did not receive any error nor a warning, but were redirected to DailyFakes.com
After tweaking the server settings, 20 such requests are possible now. I'll keep an eye on this.
